Interactivity is important for hybrid events because:
it increases engagement with your content which in turn enhances content retention for learning, brand retention for marketing and lead generation, and peer-to-peer collaboaration for networking.

Interactivity is important for hybrid events because:
The way we consume content is changing and so should the way we present content. The one way push - push - push of content, without allowing our audience to interact and engage (whether the event is online or live) is over. It's simply not the way we consume information anymore, maybe it never has been “the way” to consume just the only way we knew. It’s 2010, we now have the technology and research to cater to the way people interact and absorb information. By creating a virtual dialogue between presenter and audience (both on a group level and individual level), we are no longer pushing content at individuals, we are allowing them to respond, and in turn, the presenter is able to respond or react to them. Engaging the audience in both online and live events will not only increase retention, but the dialogue will also create presentations that have better perspective, better depth and most importantly better content!

Participant interaction stimulates the brain to get excited, promoting the learning process, and leading to better retention. Without interaction the event fails, and becomes just another of a long list of "talking heads" sessions, with little or no value.

Interactivity is important for hybrid events because otherwise it is not an event, it is a viewing. A hybrid event combines two audiences...the face-to-face audience at the event location, and the virtual audience at their computers. Because the face-to-face audience is physically present, they naturally interact with each other, the speaker, the co-ordinator, the sponsors, etc. However, since the virtual audience is not physically present, the only way that they feel involved in the event is if they are being interacted with through their computers. Otherwise they are merely viewing the event.

It is up to the organizers of hybrid events to actively engage their virtual audience through interacting with them. If they fail to do this, a fourth wall is erected and the virtual audience feels like a lurker as opposed to a participant. However, if the event organizers DO engage the virtual audience, the possibilities are endless as to how successful the hybrid event can be...and how much interaction can occur between both audiences for the duration of the event as well as into the future!

Because it is 2 way communication process, from a speaker to its audience and from an audience to its speaker by providing him/her feedback

And interactivity is important because it cannot be avoided anymore!
