Hi Ian - Please accept my apologies for the typo on your name. It should be updated now! Thanks for keeping me honest! Also, it was my pleasure to include your blog post. It is a great resource.

On audience generation - I think it is a good question and one where I am still learning myself. Let me think about it some more and then start a discussion and see where that takes us...

Thanks again Ian!

Haha, just wanted to build the suspense Sam :-)

It's actually Stream57 who can integrate chat/twitterfeed. We're working on a partnership with them...very exciting stuff. Stay tuned for some great news very soon. There's that suspense thing again!

I do think the Twebevent will be an effective technological tool as well. It will be an excellent and affordable solution for something like a breakout room. Or, a speaker who would like to stream their session but doesn't have support from an event organizer.
Otherwise a more sophisticated (technologically) platform is required. This might be where rich media streaming is required (as in the presenter uses ppt), live polling is desired, content needs to be cataloged or user data needs to be captured/it is a testing/certification environment.

Hope this helps, I could talk EventCasting and Hybrid Meetings all day long!

@jeffhurt: Great comment about leveraging the A/V talent! I agree with you --the A/V team should already have these skills /experiences to be able to support the planner.

@KenaSiu: Thanks for the suggestions! I have used Twebevent - it is powerful! It will be much more powerful when the video can scroll with the chat window!

@Midori: Great Addition! Those are great suggestions for the speakers! So - when are you going to tell me about your product that can integrate slides, chat and video? I am ready to hear more!!

Good stuff Sam!

I'm so glad you noted the importance of working with your AV company - we are a major determining factor in the quality of EventCasting. I've had several instances where we were able to up the production quality with a simple step or two :-)

One more tip would be to educate your speakers ahead of time about the fact they will be broadcast over the web. Information on what to wear (believe it or not it's important), reminders to work with both audiences (before, during and after the presentation) and a demonstration of the value of broadcasting the event (increased reach, interactivity and capture of discussion, archiving and promotional purposes).

Oh, and I have a couple of products that can integrate slides, chat and video!! How ya like them apples?

Hello Samuel,

Great points you explained here.

I think that if the webcam is not able to cover the speaker and the slides is better to focus in the screen, we can listen to the speaker anyway..

I really like how twebevent works, I just think it will better to have the the screen and the chat in two different columns, so if there is need to read downer you still can see the screen in the other side.

Great article!
